Great Diners in Fairport on the Erie Canal

My wife Betty’s home town on the south shore of Long Island. Below is La Grange now closed but a long time German restaurant. Also it was where we had out wedding reception.

A bird house in my brother in laws back yard. Just look at the length of that thing the bird is trying to get into the bird house. Look at the upper hole.

More burger than I need but excellent.

Inside Lindburgers. Also inside are lots of model planes hanging from the ceiling.

A good local Italian Restaurant. Good food, reasonable prices, great service friendly ownership.

Could be the owner. Just kidding

About 15 of us celebrated two birthdays at Napa Gino’s. Lou M and Cathy T and their cake

Black Mountain is a neat town near Asheville, NC. We chose to have lunch at Peppers. Apparently some owner past or present liked Dr. Pepper. Trick question: an old Dr Pepper bottle with holes punched in the cap was used for what?

Inside: the food and service were excellent

Went 415 miles from Kings Bay to Asheville today. Nothing exciting so we will revisit Amelia Island. The Island was named after the daughter of King George (I think). As soon as you cross the bridge to the island there is Barbara Jeans restaurant. Those who had the she crab soup said it was excellent. The shrimp salad sandwiches were great and John seemed to like his grilled cheese sandwich.

Fernandina Beach in the main town on Amelia Island. It is a tourist seaside town crammed with shops most of which have a pirate theme. All the good looking chicks seem to hang out with the bad boys.

Traveled with John and Nancy the 300 miles to Kings Bay. Made it. The first picture is the missile display on base and the second is inside the Irish Pub at the Base Bowling Center where the four of us had drinks and sandwiches. No one felt like cooking.
